The event

Black Deer Festival takes place in the wild and spectacular surroundings of the oldest deer park in England; Eridge Park in Kent. Showcasing music of an independent spirit across multiple stages, exquisite live fire cooking from the UK’s best smokehouse chefs, layers of Americana-inspired lifestyle and custom motorcycle culture with Harley-Davidson, Black Deer is a family staycation destination with a community ethos.

How did Harrier add value? – The client’s perspective

“Harrier was appointed as the new Health & Safety advisors for the festival in early 2022 and worked closely alongside the Production team throughout the planning stages of the event.

An expert eye for detail and vast knowledge of the events industry meant Harrier were able to thoroughly review the festivals policies and procedures, while providing invaluable advice.

Harrier provided the festival with various services including producing risk assessments, event safety plans and signing off on contractor documentation.

They also produced incident plans for the event and reviewed the Show Stop policy, both of which became the focus on the second night of the 2022 festival when extreme weather conditions encircled the site.”

What made this event memorable? – Our team’s perspective

This was a memorable event to work on and not just because of the variety of food outlets, traders and of course the beautiful setting. This was the first event we’d worked on in the country and Americana music genre and we loved being able to soak in the music, the atmosphere and the talent of the artists. With our own focus on positive wellbeing, it was great to see a ‘Site Mum’ at the event who made sure everyone was looked after and had someone to talk to if needed. She was wonderful, making us iced coffees, toasties and juices.

We received a lovely warm welcome from the Black Deer team. Their positive engagement with our team enabled strong, collaborative relationships to form right from the start.
